Celebrity mums launch the Barnardo's Big Toddle 2010
X-Factor star Stacey Solomon and actress Laila Rouass, along with her daughter Inez, were among hundreds of mums and toddlers at the launch of the Barnardo’s Big Toddle on 25 May.The pirate-themed launch event was held at the prestigious V&A Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green, which houses the Victoria and Albert Museum's collection of childhood-related objects and artifacts, spanning the 1600s to the present day.
Stacey said, “I’m really pleased to be here today, all the kids are so excited and they look great dressed up in their pirate gear! Please do register for the Barnardo’s Big Toddle this year, you’ll be helping to raise vital funds for the charity’s projects around the UK which help children to turn their lives around.”
Also speaking at the launch event was actress and Strictly Come Dancing star Laila Rouass, “The launch event was great fun, Inez had a lovely time and was very proud of her Big Toddle medal! It was so nice to see all the children enjoying themselves whilst raising money for such a worthwhile cause. It’s not to late to get involved so please register for your local Toddle or even host your own with family and friends.”
For the first time ever, the children’s charity has introduced a fancy dress theme to its flagship event - swashbuckling pirates.
The Big Toddle is a short sponsored walk which saw close to half a million under 5s register to Toddle in 2009 alone.
